free PROFESSIONALLY-LED MENTAL HEALTH TALKS

10:00 - 11:00 AM QPR (Question Persuade Refer) description:  Learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide.  Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. QPR is the most widely taught gatekeeper training program in the United States, and more than one million adults have been trained in classroom settings in 48 states. This one-hour class is for members of the community over the age of 16 who want to learn best practices in suicide prevention. 

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Ending the Silence description:  Learn about mental illnesses and the signs and symptoms. Also hear the personal story of a young adult who is doing well in recovery. Students receive resources to get help for themselves or for a friend and information on how to fight the stigma of mental illnesses in their school. Ending the Silence is a 50-minute class intended for high school students.
